Research: The approved male indication is hypogonadotropic hypogonadism specifically, NOT general testosterone support, which is the common off-label use and is not on the label. The cryptorchidism indication covers inducing testicular descent in boys typically aged 4 to 9, where the effect is often temporary. In IVF, an hCG trigger is given 34 to 36 hours before retrieval, timed just before follicle rupture, which would otherwise happen around 38 to 40 hours after the injection.
