Research: The inhaled VIP work in pulmonary arterial hypertension measured haemodynamic variables such as pulmonary artery pressure, not lung function. The Phase 2b/3 trial of aviptadil in COVID-19 respiratory failure did NOT meet its primary endpoint; its reported result was that no serious drug-related adverse events occurred, which is a tolerability observation and not an efficacy finding.
Side effects: VIP is a vasodilator and the aviptadil trials reported infusion-related effects, but no adverse event table for the forms sold as research VIP has been published
