Research: In a rodent full-thickness wound model, thymosin beta-4 increased reepithelialization by 42% over saline controls and increased wound contraction by 11% (Malinda et al, J Invest Dermatol 1999;113(3):364-368, PMID 10469335). Reepithelialization is the resurfacing of the wound bed, which is not the same measure as wound closure.
