Research: In a randomised crossover trial in Werner syndrome, nicotinamide riboside at 1,000 mg/day for 26 weeks against placebo improved arterial stiffness on the cardio-ankle vascular index, lowered creatinine and reduced skin ulcer area (Shoji et al, Aging Cell 2025). The 2.7-fold rise in blood NAD+ usually quoted comes from Trammell et al, Nat Commun 2016 (PMID 27721479), and that figure is from a pilot in ONE individual after a SINGLE oral dose, not from sustained daily dosing.
